Beautiful little island. Good for half day break.
Nice beach, short trail and hiking 4xx steps to to top of the Clift.
Fee for non-Thai is 300 USD
The trip from Ao Nang to Ko Hong takes just under an hour, you can rent a longboat or go with one of those that have several tourists on board.
It is a national park, so it costs to visit the place. However, the place is very nice, so it is worth the money. You can get up to the highest point where you can look out over the Andeman Sea. It is also possible to stop halfway.
There is some of the finest bathing water with a Bounty-like beach. Before the trip goes back, you have to go right around to the other side of the island, here you can sail into the middle of the island.
A very excellent area for canoeing and meditation
One of the amazing Thailand you should visit in Krabi province, name it "The Hong Islands" or "เกาะห้อง" in Thai words.
Not only Russian tourists but also my foreign friends such as Polish and Chinese still like and wish to travel to this island which looks like a paradise on earth.
Koh Hong (Room Island) is part of a group of islands one hour north of Krabi. Koh Hong has only one beach - Pelay Beach - but it is recognized for being extremely beautiful, boasting fine white sand, coral and lots of varieties of tropical fish.
Pelay Beach is framed by limestone rock formations which give it an enclosed feel. Coupled with the fact that there are seldom many people there, Koh Hong very much offers a ‘desert island’ experience. Its name comes from an eroded group of caves in the middle of the island which harbors a large lake with a small passage to the sea.
Beautiful Island which is part of Thailand’s National Park system.
Powdery white sand beaches meeting beautiful blue/green water. Part of the beach is shaded in the morning and provides excellent shelter for snorkeling/avoiding sunburn.
Short, easy walking paths exist, which lead into the forest and follow along the foot of lime stone cliffs, the dense foliage providing shelter from the sun depending on the time of day.
There is also a basic restaurant/canteen, and washrooms.
As a National Park, there is a small fee to enter.
Magnificent! It takes 419 steps to see it yourself
I should probably give 3 stars but Im giving four because it just barely fulfilled my conditions with AC, private bathroom and private room. Rooms are so tiny though, and the bed is a little hard
